Dan, israelischer Lyriker, * Radanz (Bukowina) 16. 10. 1930, ✝ Jerusalem Juni 1986; floh 1944 aus einem ukrainischen Konzentrationslager, kam 1947 nach Palästina und war in Jerusalem Professor für mittelalterliche hebräische Poesie. Seine still verhaltene Lyrik, lange v. a. von der Erfahrung des Holocaust geprägt (»Seelenwanderung«, 1970; hebräisch), öffnete sich später auch den kleinen Erlebnissen des Alltags, zum Schluss auch öfter in Prosaform (»Zwölf Gesichter«, 1981, »Synonyma«, 1982; beide hebräisch). Er legte auch zahlreiche Editionen und Studien zur mittelalterlichen hebräischen Poesie vor.
